Middle School Events

• Confirmation Begins Sunday, August 29th!  Do you have a 7th or 8th grader to register?  
• Middle School Youth events meet every other week over the summer at 1:00, including Sunday, July 25.

Helping Hands Mission Project

Collecting “Point Store” Items for Girls (Ages 11-17)

Helping Hands continues to collect Point Store items for the girls at New Life Children’s Center.  This week’s featured item:  HAIRBRUSHES Collection Dates:  July 4 – August 29 Collection Place:  Faith’s Ministry Center in the Narthex All items should be new.  Please do not include any metal or glass.

Hiring A/V Assistant for Faith Lutheran Church Pay: $15/hour Sundays and occasional weekdays

Please note that we ONLY have someone to run the slides for worship for five more weeks. We really need to fill this position soon!  Please pass this posting along to someone you know…or post it at work… or post at your community bulletin board.  Could YOU be the one we are seeking?

The Faith IT Board needs your help!

IT savvy? Do you like to work with computers?  The Faith IT Board needs your help!  The IT Board’s responsibility is to take care of the Church’s IT needs, which includes (but is not limited to) purchasing and repairing (when possible) all electronic equipment. Keeping up the internal network and phones and securing printer/copier contracts.

Virginia Lazenby’s presentation on Downsizing covers all aspects, including quality of life, aging successfully, and how to choose a senior living community best suited to your needs and desires. Finally, Virginia will discuss her philosophy of downsizing in five easy steps.

Virginia Lazenby is founder of Seniors Living Smarter Services, and host of the popular monthly Seniors Living Smarter seminars. An active Texas Realtor and Certified Senior Housing Professional, Mrs. Lazenby is also a fervent and innovative advocate for seniors. Her mission is to educate, equip, and inspire seniors to live life with a plan, and with the best quality of life in view.

Life Thoughts from Lutherans for Life

July 18 – Pentecost VIII (Proper 11B) – Abortion and assisted suicide may appear to be compassionate measures. But while they deaden the culture to some discomforts, they actually deny support to unborn and impaired persons. By contrast, Jesus has compassion on the whole multitude with no exceptions, because He perceives how the world has abandoned them (Mark 6:34). He feeds them instead of forsaking (Mark 6:41). And the Gospel extends abundant life from fertilization to forever.

Bags to Mats Update

We are taking a break from collecting bags until the end of the Summer.  This is good news because that means we have more than enough bags for what we need.  Our stores are overflowing!  Thank you to everyone for helping us with this blessing for the homeless.  Our next meeting is TODAY:  Friday, July 16 at 10:00 a.m.
