Faith Senior Ministries cordially invites you to join us on Wednesday, July 7th for a time of thanksgiving, praise, and rejoicing with hymns and instrumentals, God’s Word, prayer, and a special devotional message by Pastor Don Kasper titled “The Awesomeness of God’s Creation.”

In addition, we are excited to have these musicians as a part of the program:  McCaryn Gaty (cello) Joyce Best (piano) Austin Angerman (harp) Janine Alford (hymn leader) RSVP not required.  Masks optional.  Bring a friend!

Mission Offering

The Adult Bible Study mission offering this summer will go to THE LOCKER of Georgetown. The Locker educates and empowers youth, through Service Learning, to meet the needs of others in their community so that every child has a sense of normalcy.  God is so good!

Is there Sunday School for children and youth this summer?  You bet!  9:45-10:45

There are three classes:  

• 3-year-old to 2nd Grade  (Activity Center – downstairs)
• 3rd to 5th Grades (Activity Center – upstairs)
• 6th to 12th Grades (Activity Center – upstairs)

Is there a nursery available?  Yes, indeed! 

The Nursery is open during Worship and Sunday School for children up to age three.

Upbring: New Life Treatment Center

Collecting “Point Store” Items for Girls (Ages 11-17)

The “Point Store” is a place where the girls at New Life Treatment Center can shop using their “points” for good behavior. Helping Hands is privileged to collect some of the items they most like to buy.  We invite you to purchase the items listed below and place them in the box provided in the Ministry Center.  

Collection Dates:  July 4 through August 29

Collection Place:  Faith’s Ministry Center in the Narthex

Collection Items:  All items should be new.  Please do not include any metal or glass.

If you would like to contribute but would like to leave the shopping to us, you may make your check out to “Helping Hands,” and place it in the mailbox of our Treasurer, Susie Logan, Box #270.  Please indicate at the bottom left of your check is for the Point Store.  There will also be a member at the Ministry Center before and after church services to accept donations. 

Growing Abundantly / Giving Abundantly 

Capital Campaign Status Report

On January 1, 2019 (30 months ago), the “Growing Abundantly / Giving Abundantly” Capital Campaign was initiated.  The purpose of the 36-month (2019-2021) capital campaign was to continue reducing loan debt and accelerating loan payments on Faith’s magnificent sanctuary dedicated in November 2009.  (CLICK HERE to read the June 30, 2021, Status Report.)

Life Thoughts from Lutherans for Life

July 4 – Pentecost VI (Proper 9B) – Many in the world and some in the churches won’t listen to the sanctity of human life. It doesn’t mean we’ve failed. Both Ezekiel (Ezekiel 2:5) and Jesus (Mark 6:3) experienced rejection. So, we may borrow their boldness. The Lord perfects His power (2 Corinthians 12:9) even in surprise pregnancy or terminal diagnosis. His creating, redeeming, and calling grace prevails in our weakness as well. And all ages, appearances, and abilities will know He Himself has been among them.
